Sump Pump Installation, Replacement & Battery Backups

A finished basement is only as dry as the pump under it. We install, replace and back up sump pumps across Washington and the surrounding towns.

In Central Illinois, a sump pump is what stands between a heavy spring rain and a wet basement. We install new sump pumps, replace failing ones and add battery backup systems for homes around Washington, Germantown Hills, Metamora, Morton and the surrounding towns.

Why a Battery Backup Is Worth It

Sump pumps tend to fail at the worst possible time: during a storm, often when the power is out. A battery backup pump sits in the same pit and takes over automatically if the main pump stops or the power fails. If your basement is finished, it is one of the least expensive ways to protect a very expensive space.

Signs Your Sump Pump Needs Attention

  • The pump runs constantly, or cycles on and off rapidly
  • It makes grinding or rattling noises
  • Water stays in the pit after the pump runs
  • The pump is more than 7 to 10 years old
  • You cannot remember the last time you heard it run

Sump Pump Installation & Replacement FAQs

How long does a sump pump last?

Most sump pumps last around 7 to 10 years, depending on how often they run. If yours is in that range, it is worth replacing it before it fails.

Do I need a battery backup sump pump?

If your basement is finished or stores anything you would not want wet, a battery backup is strongly recommended. It keeps pumping when the main pump fails or the power goes out.

Do you install sewage ejector pumps?

Yes. Basement bathrooms below the level of the sewer need an ejector pump, and we install and replace them.
